5/9. Литейные формы.
Если можно было бы выбрать предмет олицетворяющий одновременно XVIII век, промышленную эпоху и Урал, то этим предметом точно была бы литейная форма. В экспозиции зритель может своими руками прикоснутся (а мы все существа тактильные) к репродукциям этих литейных матриц.
Мы решили что можно использовать их не только в прямом смысле, как например в форме пушки – одного из самых распространенных изделий из чугуна, но и в метафоричном смысле.
Например, в зале где речь идет о шрифтовой реформе зритель увидит перед собой наборную кассу, а в зале рассказывающем о двоевластии – «литейную форму» чугунной державы расколотую пополам. Конечно мы понимаем, что никаких держав в чугуне не отливалось. Но как визуальный образ и тактильный экспонат – все это выглядит чрезвычайно круто.
Foundry mold
If it were possible to choose an object that symbolizes the 18th century, the industrial era and the Urals at the same time, this object would definitely be a foundry mold. In the exhibition, the viewer can touch (and we are all tactile creatures) the reproductions of these foundry matrices.
We decided that they can be used not only in a direct sense, such as in the form of a cannon - one of the most common cast iron products, but also in a metaphorical sense.
For example, in the hall where we are talking about font reform, the viewer will see in front of him a typed cash register, and in the hall where we are talking about dual power - a «mold» of a cast-iron orb split in half. Of course, we realize that no orb was cast in cast iron. But as a visual image and tactile exhibit - it all looks extremely cool.
