How to create a Telegram bot in 5 minutes BotFather

Brief step-by-step instructions.

1. Open the Telegram application. Type “BotFather” into the search and select a bot with that name. This is the bot with which all other bots are created in Telegram. Or just open this bot via the link https://t.me/BotFather

2. Click “Start”. By clicking on this button, communication with any bot in Telegram begins.

3. Type /newbot to start creating your bot.

4. Enter the name of your bot. This is how users will see your bot. For example, “Golden Eye Company Task Manager”.

5. Enter @username of your bot. This is a unique identifier in Telegram, used for the same purposes as the username. Only letters of the English alphabet can be used. The name must end with bot. For example, GoldenEyeTasksBot.

6. In response, BotFather will send you your bot token. Save it somewhere. This is the password with which the application can work on behalf of your bot. Poke the token with your finger or click with the mouse, the token will be copied to the clipboard. Then save it in Notepad, for example.

7. Enter the command /mybots. You will receive a list of bots you have created. Click on your bot, @GoldenEyeTasksBot in my case. A list of commands that you can do with your bot will appear.

8. Click “Edit Bot”. A list of commands will appear that will allow you to make your bot pleasing to the eyes of your users.

9. “Edit Name” - this is editing the name of the bot. We set the name at the stage of creating the bot. Let's skip this command.

10. Click “Edit About” and enter a brief description of our bot. This description will be visible to users on the bot's detailed form.

11. Click “Edit Description” and enter a detailed description of the bot. This description will be visible to users when they first enter the bot, where the “Start” button is.

12. Click “Edit Botpic” and load the bot icon. This icon will be visible in the contact list, in search results in Telegram, as well as on the bot’s detailed form.

13. Click “Edit Description Picture” and upload a welcome image of the bot, image size 640x360 pixels. This image will be visible to the user when they first log into the bot, in the same place as the “Start” button.
