Is it true that the brain only works at 10%?

Nowadays, it is often possible to meet with the opinion that the human brain supposedly works at only 10% of all its capabilities. On the basis of such a statement, the plot of some popular films is even being built. Let's try to figure out if each of us can suddenly become ten times smarter, or is it a myth, and if so, where did it come from?

But where did this misconception come from? Let's figure it out:

Firstly, just at the beginning of the 20th century, scientists discovered that the human brain consists of 90% glial cells, at first glance supposedly useless. At the moment, it has already become known that these cells are not useless at all, but perform the role of the most complex routers and provide communication between the neurons of the brain. Moreover, it was found that the more of these cells in the brain, the better it works and the smarter a person is.
Secondly, at the same time, scientists realized that different parts of the brain are active at different times, i.e. at the same time, the whole brain really does not work. By the way, when the whole brain is triggered at the same time, i.e. all its parts, then a person has an epileptic seizure, this is known to happen, but it hardly pulls on superpowers. However, after hearing about these scientific discoveries, journalists immediately twisted everything in their own way, so that it looked like a sensation. However, and so far there has not been a single really scientific study that would claim that the brain works for a certain small percentage of its capabilities.

The fact is that this question: "how many percent of its capabilities does the brain work?" is not at all scientific. This question lies in the field of elementary logic, not biology. The answer to it is too simple and obvious for scientists to deal with it at all. And the answer is this:

For each individual, at the moment of maximum mental stress, the brain gives out 100% of the possibilities that it is currently capable of.

At the same time, if a person is sitting idle, then, obviously, the brain is not working at full capacity (although, as you know, the brain never stops completely, it always monitors the work of all organs, monitors many indicators and factors and is constantly ready).

This does not mean that the brain cannot be developed, on the contrary, it can and should be done, and perhaps it can be developed even very much and many times, but it takes a lot of work. At the same time, at any given moment, your brain will be able to give out 100% of its capabilities at that moment.
