Introduction 🌍✨
In the modern information age, people often pay attention only to what brings them immediate benefit or entertainment. However, there are always individuals who seek a deeper understanding of the world and human nature. For them, these reflections are offered on how biological laws, social structures, and cultural values shape our lives. These ideas are inspired by the philosophy of Velantrim culture—an approach that calls for harmony with nature, respect for knowledge, and a revival of traditional values. The text is structured logically: first, it examines the biological basis of man and the influence of resources on his freedom, then the role of childhood and upbringing, the consequences of globalization for traditions and morality, and finally, the path to achieving harmony with nature and oneself.
Human Biology: Instincts and Reason 🧬🧠
By nature, man is a biological being with all the instincts and limitations inherent to living organisms. Our perception of the world and our abilities are determined by our senses and the workings of our brain. The primitive part of the brain is responsible for basic survival needs – finding food, safety, and procreation. These instincts are inherited from our distant ancestors and are akin to those of animals: everyone has the drive to feed themselves, protect themselves from threats, and leave offspring.
However, unlike animals, the human brain (especially the developed neocortex) allows us to think abstractly, invent, create and build complex societies together. We possess articulated speech – a language through which we encode and transmit information, which has become the foundation for the progress of culture and knowledge.
Despite our high capacity for rational thought, humans cannot exist alone outside of society. We are collective beings: for survival and development, we need other people. A single person is vulnerable, but a united collective can provide food, protection, and the transmission of experience to future generations. To bring disparate individuals into a community, a common idea or value that everyone shares is needed. Historically, such cohesion was provided by culture and traditions: a common language, rituals, reverence for the land, or belief in gods – all of this created a sense of kinship and mutual understanding even between strangers. Thus, the biological nature of man is closely intertwined with his social essence: our instincts set our basic needs, while reason and culture allow us to satisfy them together and transcend purely animal existence.
Resources and Freedom ⚖💰
Material resources play a key role in a person's sense of freedom and confidence. Like all living beings, people need land, food, shelter and other natural goods to survive. When an individual possesses a sufficient amount of resources – for example, their own plot of land, a water source, or other riches, – they feel like an independent master of their own destiny. Their own means of subsistence give them confidence in the future and peace of mind for their family. In contrast, if a person is completely dependent on someone else's property or external supplies, their freedom is limited. Dependency creates constant tension: if support from outside is lost, fear of losing access to necessities settles in the soul.
Today, most people lack direct control over the resources that sustain their lives. Land, minerals and even basic infrastructure belong either to state structures or large corporations. The average person becomes a perpetual tenant and consumer, dependent on the decisions and prices dictated by the state or a corporation. In such conditions, the sense of stability is undermined: people are in a state of continuous stress, fearing poverty or being left without the means to live. It constantly seems to them that the available goods are "not enough" – because there is no guarantee of future stability. This gives rise to an atmosphere of competitive struggle for resources and a place in the sun, where everyone is forced to worry about tomorrow instead of feeling free and protected.
Childhood, Education, and the Formation of Personality 🌱👨👩👧👦
The first years of a person's life are a special period that largely determines their worldview. Childhood (roughly up to 15–16 years old) is a time of fairy tales, games and selfless exploration. During this stage, a child develops abstract thinking through fantasy and creativity; they are instilled with the idea that life can be full of romance, creativity and adventure. Family and close surroundings serve as a “roof” and a support for the little person, allowing them to grow up in an atmosphere of love and safety.
However, sooner or later, the transition to adulthood arrives. With the onset of puberty (usually after 16), hormonal changes shift the attention of a young man or woman from games and carefree learning to questions of relationships and finding their place in society. A strong attraction to the opposite sex awakens—nature pushes young people to form couples and, eventually, families. At the same time, the body signals the end of childhood: for example, the thymus gland, which is responsible for immunity, begins to shrink, resetting the immune system to an adult mode. A person no longer feels like a child but a potential parent, and their motivation changes. Instead of carefree exploration of the world, the desire for independence, professional training, and financial stability comes to the forefront.
Entering adulthood is also associated with social challenges. A young man or woman who previously lived only for themselves under the protection of their parents' home must now build deep relationships with a person from another family. Two different upbringings and two systems of values meet and are forced to find a compromise for the sake of creating a new family. People have to learn to understand each other and make mutual concessions.
In a traditional society, this task was significantly easier due to common cultural norms. When newlyweds and their relatives shared common guidelines – reverence for ancestors, agricultural rituals, belief in the same gods, respect for the same ideals – achieving mutual understanding was much simpler. A shared culture served as a bridge between different clans, creating a sense of kinship even among previously unfamiliar people. By creating a new family, the young people simultaneously continued the traditions of their people, maintaining the connection between generations.
Globalization and the Loss of Traditions 🌐💔
The modern era of globalization has radically changed the way of human life. On the one hand, humanity has faced an unprecedented flow of information. Around us is an endless noise of news, advertising, entertainment, and social networks, where grains of truth are drowned in a sea of useless or distorted information. Traditional knowledge and values are lost in this informational chaos: the younger generation increasingly adopts less from the experience of their ancestors, preferring the trendy trends of mass culture.
On the other hand, people have lost their former economic self-sufficiency. A hundred years ago, families produced much of what they consumed themselves – they grew food, sewed clothes, made tools and utensils. Now, almost all goods and products come to us through global markets from distant corporations. New technologies and household conveniences have appeared (household appliances, electronics, etc.) without which we cannot imagine life, but which no one can make with their own hands. Man has become dependent on a complex global supply system. Now even basic needs – food, heat, communication – are not met by the efforts of one's own community, but through purchases from transnational suppliers.
At the same time, most people have stopped being masters of their own land, as was the case with peasants in the past. We live in states that are “empires,” where centralized power and big business control the main wealth. The average city dweller is completely dependent on infrastructure and supplies that they personally cannot influence.
All these changes have led not only to economic but also to serious cultural shifts. Community traditions, rituals, and local life features have begun to fade, giving way to a unified global consumer culture. Where once holidays and rituals strengthened a person's connection to the land and community, universal trends broadcast through television and the internet now dominate. People's nutrition has also become globalized: instead of local natural products, mass-market food with factory additives that affect health prevails on the table. Although progress has brought unprecedented comfort and abundance, it has also created a feeling of being disconnected from one's roots. Modern man is moving further away from a simple life on the land, from the knowledge of his ancestors on how to independently sustain existence, and we are witnessing the erosion of identity, the loss of the spiritual support that traditions once provided.
The Decline of Honor and a True Elite 🔱💔
Any developed society needs leaders who guide people and serve as a moral compass. In previous eras, the role of such an elite was not performed by wealthy consumers, but by wise people: priests, teachers, philosophers, outstanding warriors, or scientists. These people were responsible to the people, preserved knowledge and traditions, and made decisions for the common good. Thanks to them, society maintained a course consistent with its values and preserved itself as an integrated organism.
Today, the true concept of the elite has practically disappeared. In the mass consciousness, the “elite” has come to mean those who are in the public eye – popular artists, showmen, sports idols, media billionaires. But these idols, in essence, contribute little to the development of society. They are dependent on the same market conditions and whims of the system as everyone else, and often only pander to the base tastes of the public. The current celebrities have no real spiritual or intellectual independence – they are more like simulacra of an elite, creating the appearance of success and cultivating a cult of consumerism.
Simultaneously with the decline in the standards for leaders, the general moral measure has also fallen. One of the most important values of the past was honor. Honor was understood as valor, fidelity to one's word, protection of the weak, and a rejection of deceit and falsehood. Upholding honor united people, creating trust and mutual respect in the community. However, in the modern world, based on the principles of profit and competition, there is almost no place for honor. Being too honest and noble means going against the rules of a game where everyone fights for profit and status. Gradually, the ideals of selflessness and fidelity to one's word are being replaced by naked pragmatism. A society that has rejected honor inevitably sinks into cynicism and egoism; people lose trust in each other and in their leaders, and the sense of duty and solidarity weakens.
Mindfulness and Harmony with Nature 🌿🧘♀
How, then, can this crisis be overcome and a sense of stability and meaning be returned to man? The philosophy of Velantrim culture suggests turning to mindfulness and natural values as a path to a new harmony: first and foremost, one should reject the imposed race of consumption and false ideals. The desire to surpass others in everything – to be the richest, most striking, or most influential – does not bring true satisfaction to the soul. Instead of a futile rivalry for status, it is more sensible to direct energy towards one's own development and health – both physical and mental. Knowledge, education, and broadening one's horizons give a person internal support; it's no wonder they say that knowledge – это сила. An enlightened and thoughtful person is better protected from the manipulations and stresses of the modern world.
An important role is played by a re-evaluation of priorities towards simplicity and natural harmony. Velantrim teaches us to see nature not as a resource for exploitation, but as a teacher and partner. A person will find peace of mind only by restoring their connection with the earth – by respecting the environment and living by its rhythms. In practical terms, this means valuing pure food, fresh air, direct physical labor, and constant contact with the earth. It is useful to bring elements of the traditional way of life into daily life: working together with loved ones, celebrating seasonal holidays, honoring elders, and caring for the young. Such simple things restore our sense of roots and continue the living thread of culture, which has been largely lost in a globalized world.
Finally, it is necessary to restore the value of community and mutual aid. A person feels more confident and happier when they are part of a friendly collective that shares their goals and ideals. Instead of disunity and competition, cooperation and solidarity should be cultivated. Working together for the good of the family, community, or society as a whole gives deep satisfaction: when we work not only for material reward but also from a sincere desire to be useful to others, life is filled with true meaning. Positive emotions and a sense of belonging displace fear and loneliness. Mindfulness is the understanding of one's place in the world and the acceptance of responsibility for it. By cultivating mindfulness, respect for nature, and love for one's neighbor in ourselves and in our children, we lay the foundation for the future.
Conclusion 🕊✨
Humanity is at a crossroads between material progress and the spiritual foundations that have sustained society for centuries. To achieve true harmony, it is necessary to combine the best of both worlds. It is important to remember our biological roots and real needs, strive for reasonable independence (for example, by having basic resources under our control) and at the same time revive traditional values – honor, mutual aid, and respect for knowledge. This is precisely what the philosophy of Velantrim advocates. If each of us starts with small steps – studying the world around us more deeply, treating nature with care, and cultivating mindfulness and kindness in ourselves, – society as a whole will gradually change. By restoring our connection with nature and with one another, people can build a future where technology and culture do not contradict but complement each other, and where freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility.
